d-x is an art potter, and graduate student in ceramics at the art institute. he has only worked with clay, determined to understand a material that he will one day be and wonders at the thought that all that ever was has scattered itself down to the ground. he sees pottery robbed of its historical role of sustenance so that clay became a sham, caught between tradition’s ersatz and modern impulse. naturally, the other potters had no idea what to do so they kept making ridiculously priced pots that housewives would buy but never use, never know, never receive sustenance from. d-x art pottery seeks to create a reactionary pottery, to use the anachronism against itself, to call out the armed guards against these ‘art re-enactors,’ and to obliterate pottery in any form that it is known today. the new pottery will sustain you in ways wal-mart cant, the new pottery will be moral pottery.

Short Statement:
"Clay Pigeon' is a system of flying record players made from clay
pigeon skeet shot targets, lm386 op amp circuits, contact mics, toys,
records, and modeling clay. As the night wore on, parts of the system
decayed and failed and by the end of the show only 3 were left flying
which was quite delightful.
"The way it goes" is an unconventional ladies bathroom space, but I
like to think that the space still performs pretty much the same
function as it did before...
